Whatevs

I realize that blogging is an exercise in futility. Unless a person sticks to a certain topic or genre, readers lose interest. But to keep readers' interest, one has to keep current with the chosen topic. All of this is beside the point that getting readers at all is difficult. Now to turn into a complete hypocrite...

That being said, I have come across some strange blogs. Jordana the Intern is the latest. I get it...she really likes the Strokes and writes primarily about them. Honestly, I'm not trying to insult her for it. I'm simply asking the question, why? What makes her views on one band so important that she needs to maintain a blog about the group? In it she complains that so few of her friends like the band. Rather than post in a blog, why doesn't she simply go to the band's message board? The band has a livejournal community, as well. I just don't see the point. She could make friends with Strokes' fans if she wanted to. Especially living in the New York City area as she seems to, the mere concentration of people means that sooner or later she'll find someone who likes the Strokes as much as she does.
