Blog Reply Spam
It is safe to say that apart from random stragglers, the only people who read this blog are friends to whom I gave the link (Hi, Rachael!). If they feel the desire to reply in the blog, they do so but much more often than not choose to remark in a more personal way. They seldom reply in the blog itself and even if they do, they do not ravenously digest the replies of others.
What, then, is the point of spamming this blog with posts linking readers to other sites which sell crap? Do these people honestly think that someone is going to read a reply and scream, "Sweet! I've always wanted to go on a cruise and here is a site offering hundreds to choose from!" No. No one will. Do they think that I will be so glad that someone (some computer, more likely) took the time to reply in my blog that I will visit their obviously for-profit site? Again, it will not happen.
